Transparent technology
Cookie Policy
Clear information about cookies and similar technologies used on the DTL website.
Last updated: 22 September 2026
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files placed on a device when a website is visited. Similar technologies may store or retrieve information needed for security, functionality, preferences or measurement. Some cookies expire when the browser closes; others remain for a defined period.
2. How DTL uses cookies
DTL uses cookies and comparable technologies only for legitimate and proportionate website purposes. Strictly necessary technologies may operate without optional consent because the website cannot function securely without them. Any non-essential analytics, preference or marketing technology will be activated only where an appropriate consent mechanism and lawful basis are in place.
The exact cookies visible to you may depend on the pages visited, browser state, whether you are signed into WordPress administration and any services introduced after this policy is updated.
3. Cookie categories
| Category | Purpose | Typical status |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Security, network delivery, fraud prevention, session integrity and core website operation. | Always active where required |
| Preferences | Remember choices that improve the way the website behaves or appears. | Optional where used |
| Analytics | Understand aggregated website usage and improve performance and content. | Optional where used |
| Third-party or embedded content | Support external media or services that may set their own technologies. | Optional unless essential |
DTL does not use cookies to collect payroll files or confidential client datasets. The public Data Health Check is designed to operate without requesting such records.
4. Managing cookies
You can use any cookie controls presented on the website and your browser settings to block, delete or limit cookies. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent parts of the site from working correctly. Browser help pages explain how to manage cookies and site data for your chosen browser.
Where consent is the lawful basis for an optional cookie, you may withdraw that consent as easily as it was given. Withdrawal does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal.
5. Third parties, changes and contact
Third-party services are responsible for their own cookie and privacy practices. DTL assesses providers before authorised use but recommends reviewing the provider’s current notice where an external service is presented.
We may update this policy when website technology or legal requirements change. For questions, use the DTL contact page and identify your message as a cookie or privacy enquiry.
